A leading insurance firm is seeking a QA Engineer to join a newly formed Data Engineering squad, responsible for testing ETL pipelines and data flows into a centralised data warehouse. This team will work closely with internal Accounting and Finance stakeholders, supporting business-critical reporting and financial processes.

This is a greenfield opportunity within a growing data function. As the first QA Engineer on the project, you will play a key role in shaping testing strategy, processes, and quality standards from the ground up.
The Role
- Own and execute testing across ETL pipelines and data warehouse integrations
- Validate accounting and financial datasets for accuracy, completeness, and integrity
- Collaborate closely with data engineers, product, and finance stakeholders
- Contribute to the definition of QA best practices within a new data team
- Test AWS-based data workflows, including serverless and orchestration components
Required Experience
- Experience or strong working knowledge of accounting / financial data
- Solid understanding of ETL processes, data warehousing concepts, and how to test them
- 3+ years' experience as a QA Engineer
- Hands-on experience testing solutions built on AWS
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical teams and business users
Desirable
- Programming or scripting experience in C# or Python
