Wills HVAC Services is a specialist provider of HVAC controls, electrical control panels and building automation solutions, delivering projects for commercial customers throughout the UK.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and reliable Control Panel Builder to join our panel team at our Burnley office.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in electrical engineering, panel building, electrical installation or a similar role who is looking to develop their skills and progress within a growing business.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have completed a Level 2 or Level 3 electrical/engineering qualification, or who have gained relevant practical experience, for example as an Electrician's Mate, Electrical Improver or Panel Wireman/woman.

The Role

Working as part of our control panel team, you will be responsible for building and wiring electrical control panels for commercial HVAC and building control systems.

You will work from electrical drawings and wiring diagrams to produce high-quality control panels, ensuring all work is completed accurately, safely and to the required standard.

The role will also involve supporting our engineers with panel installation and commissioning work on customer sites when required.

This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, has good attention to detail and wants to develop your electrical and controls knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and wire electrical control panels to a high standard, following electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Read and understand electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Install and terminate electrical components, including relays, contactors, terminals, circuit protection and control equipment.
• Carry out panel wiring, cable preparation, termination and labelling.
• Use hand tools, power tools and battery-operated drills safely and effectively.
• Check completed work to ensure wiring is accurate, neat and to the required standard.
• Assist with testing and fault finding of control panels.
• Identify and report any issues or discrepancies with drawings, components or wiring.
• Occasionally support engineers with control panel installation and commissioning on customer sites.
• Work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from senior engineers and management.
• Work to project deadlines and agreed timescales.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Follow company health and safety procedures at all times.
• Support continuous improvement within the panel manufacturing process.
• Be willing to learn and develop your knowledge of HVAC controls and electrical control systems.
• Previous practical experience in an electrical, engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and follow electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Good practical and manual skills.
• Comfortable using basic hand tools and power tools.
• Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work.
• Ability to identify problems and assist with fault finding.
• Ability to work independently when required, while also being a good team player.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Reliable, hardworking and willing to learn.
• Ability to work to deadlines and maintain a high standard of work.
• Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Installation, Engineering or a related subject.
• Previous experience building or wiring electrical control panels.
• Previous experience as an Electrician's Mate, Electrical Improver, Panel Wireman or similar.
• Experience working from electrical schematics.
• Basic understanding of electrical control systems.
• Experience with HVAC controls or BMS.
• Experience with relays, contactors, VSDs or motor control circuits.
• Electrical testing or fault-finding experience.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
