Willowbrook Medical Practice is seeking a motivated, patient‐centred Salaried GP (4 sessions per week) to join our supportive and forward‐thinking team on a 9‐month fixed‐term contract. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a well‐established training practice with a strong reputation for high‐quality care, teamwork, and clinical support. The post is ideal for both newly qualified and experienced GPs seeking a well‐supported, flexible role within a collaborative environment. This fixed‐term post is offered to support service continuity within the practice, with potential flexibility around start date.

Main duties of the job

  • 4 sessions per week (days flexible by agreement preferably Thu & Fri)
  • Typical session: ~1415 patient contacts (mix of face‐to‐face and telephone)
  • Structured admin time built into the session
  • Home visits shared across the team, with support from multidisciplinary colleagues
  • Duty system supported by GP team and wider MDT
  • Use of SystmOne clinical system
  • You will undertake the full range of GP duties, including consultations, clinical decision‐making, prescription management, and clinical administration.

Job responsibilities

  • Competitive sessional rate: £10,500–£12,500 per session (dependent on experience)
  • Payment of medical defence subscription

Person Specification

  • Good understanding and experience of chronic disease management, and primary prevention and screening services
  • Ability to take responsibility for your own career development, learning and performance and are responsible for ensuring that all your mandatory training is in date
  • Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies and guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety
  • Commitment to life‐long learning and audit to ensure evidence‐based best practice
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team player with a positive outlook
  • GP trainer would be an advantage
  • Possible interest in women's health, contraception and family planning
  • Full driving licence
  • Ideally located in a reasonable travel distance to the Practice with a full driving licence

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified GP with GMC registration
  • Annual appraisal and revalidation, when appropriate
  • Be on the NHSE medical performers list
  • Disclosure and Barring Service Check
  • This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
