We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our In-Patient Unit team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families, helping to deliver high-quality palliative and end of life care in a warm, supportive and person-centred environment. Working alongside our experienced nursing team, you will play an important role in ensuring patients receive care with dignity, respect and kindness at all times.

Your Role

As a Health Care Assistant, You Will

  • Support patients with personal care, mobility, nutrition and hydration needs.
  • Assist registered nurses in delivering individualised patient care.
  • Monitor and report changes in patients' conditions.
  • Provide emotional support to patients, families and carers.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Help create a clean, safe and welcoming care environment.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Uphold the Hospice's values and commitment to outstanding patient care.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care, Care Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience working within a healthcare or care setting.
  • Passionate about delivering high-quality care.
  • Caring, sensitive and empathetic in their approach.
  • Able to communicate effectively with patients, relatives and colleagues.
  • Comfortable working within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Reliable, flexible and motivated.
  • Committed to ongoing learning and development.
