Purpose of the Role
To ensure products are manufactured in accordance with food safety, quality, legality and customer requirements by carrying out process checks throughout production.
The Process Controller plays a key role in preventing issues before they occur, supporting production teams and ensuring compliance with site procedures, BRCGS requirements and customer standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Process Control
- Ensure products are manufactured to the correct specification, including e. g. weights, coding, labelling and packaging.
- Monitor temperature controls and other food safety checks.
- Ensure CCPs, OPRPs and quality checks are completed accurately where applicable.
- Escalate any food safety or quality concerns immediately.
- Ensure legal and customer compliance records are completed correctly.
- Complete start-up, changeover and end-of-run checks, including scales.
- Conduct finished product assessments against specification.
- Identify opportunities to improve standards and processes.
- Support internal, customer and third‑party audits demonstrating PC checks.
Responsibilities
- Promote a positive food safety and quality culture.
- Challenge poor practices professionally.
- Support production teams in achieving compliance.
- Work collaboratively across departments.
