What you’ll be doing
- Working with a start-up international money transfer business (API licensed) to maintain and develop Financial Crime frameworks, policies and procedures in line with relevant regulations.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for all Financial Crime matters, staying ahead of regulatory developments and advising the business on associated risks.
- Managing investigations and reporting of suspicious activity in accordance with regulatory requirements, including filing Suspicious Activity Reports and liaising with the NCA as required.
- Initially managing one direct report, a deputy MLRO, and overseeing the growth of the Financial Crime function both on and offshore.
What we’re looking for
- An experienced MLRO with experience in an international money transfers business and a proven track record of maintaining and updating Financial Crime and compliance frameworks, policies and procedures.
- A ‘start-up’ mentality, commercially astute, and comfortable operating in a hands-on capacity.
- Strong working knowledge of UK AML/CTF regulations, sanctions, ABC and JMLSG guidance.
- Availability to start immediately or at very short notice.
