London (Hybrid, 2 or 3 days a week in the office)
What’s in it for you?
Lawtech in the UK is booming. Whilst investment in other tech sectors is declining (e.g. FinTech), investment in UK-founded lawtech firms is surging. This is your chance to be part of that boom.
This is a great opportunity to use your experience gained in a FinTech, RegTech of PropTech environment to help set the compliance standard for an AI-native Law firm from the ground up, with real ownership and the freedom to shape how it's done.
It’s an early, high-impact role offering plenty of opportunity for you to make your mark.
And it's effectively an MLRO designate position. This function is currently held by the COO but will be yours when you're ready.
Oh, and there's also shares as part of the package!
What you’ll be doing
You’ll design and implement proportionate Financial Crime Compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures for the business, work closely with the product development team to ensure compliance is integral to the new platform.
You'll be the first point of contact for any regulatory questions, providing pragmatic commercial guidance that supports innovation whilst safeguarding standards.
You'll maintain the firm-wide risk assessment, AML policy, and due diligence standards. You'll also evaluate internal suspicious activity reports and high-risk escalations.
In addition, you'll also act as the data protection lead for the firm, keeping UK GDPR compliance on track, from subject access requests to data breaches, to running wider impact assessments.
What we’re looking for
You'll have gained broad 2nd Line Financial Crime experience within a tech-driven environment. We'd be interested in speaking to anyone with FinTech, RegTech, or PropTech experience in particular.
You must have experience of designing and implementing appropriate Financial Crime frameworks, and experience in a startup environment would be advantageous.
You must also have a keen interest in AI and be keen to use it within a compliance environment. In addition, any experience of data protection would certainly be of interest.
