About the Role

- What You'll Be Doing
- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality History lessons that inspire curiosity and achievement.
- Adapt learning to meet the individual needs of pupils with SEND, SEMH and additional learning needs.
- Create a safe, inclusive and nurturing classroom where pupils feel confident to participate and succeed.
- Monitor, assess and celebrate pupil progress, using assessment to inform future learning.
- Encourage pupils to develop critical thinking, communication skills and a deeper understanding of historical events and their relevance today.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, families and the wider multidisciplinary team to provide consistent, high-quality support.
- Contribute to curriculum development, enrichment activities and whole-school improvement.
- Promote pupils' personal development, resilience, independence and emotional wellbeing.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/PGCE) or equivalent.
- Passionate about History and committed to making learning engaging and accessible for every pupil.
- Creative, adaptable and able to personalise learning for a wide range of abilities and needs.
- Experienced in, or keen to develop expertise in, teaching pupils with SEND, SEMH or additional needs.
- An excellent communicator who builds positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families.
- Calm, patient and resilient, with a positive and solution-focused approach.
- Committed to safeguarding, inclusion and helping every young person achieve their full potential.
