Location: Willow shops across Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire - Biggleswade, Hatfield, Hemel Hempstead, Hertford, Hitchin, Letchworth Garden City, Stevenage, and Welwyn Garden City.
What’s involved?
- Maintaining active social media accounts for the shop.
- Researching and creating creative content for different social media channels.
- Identifying opportunities to establish relationships with local community groups.
- Advertising volunteering opportunities in the shop and diversifying online presence by developing other potential social media channels.
- Keeping up to date with Willow’s events and fundraising campaigns and promoting this across the different channels.
- Thinking of innovative ways to drive online engagement.
- Identifying target audiences and staying up to date with current trends.
How long and how often
We are looking for a volunteer to offer support, committing up to a few hours a week.

This role is ideal for someone who has experience using social media channels including Facebook and Instagram, has an interest in retail, charity retail, and sustainability, and shares an affinity with the purpose and values of Willow. Creativity, good attention to detail, and the ability to work as part of a team are key.

Your support will help our busy retail team reach a broader online audience, driving donations, sales, and support for Willow in the local area. Ultimately, your support will enable Willow to continue providing special days, treats, and breaks for seriously ill young adults.

You will be part of a small team that provides support and training as required, and you will receive all necessary resources and training on their use. We will keep you informed and updated on how your support benefits the team, Willow, and our services.
