As a Senior Site Manager here at Willmott Dixon, you will be supporting our Construction Manager and leading a team of Site/Building Managers across a diverse range of projects within our portfolio, including Education, Defence, Leisure and Health. You will be part of our ‘one team’ ethos that delivers quality projects on time whilst also having a positive impact on the local community.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, the successful candidate will manage the delivery of projects safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality.

Key responsibilities:

  • Organise the works and supply chain to provide the right working environment to avoid disruption between trades, ensuring an excellent site image is maintained.
  • Undertake the works to eliminate waste and avoid non-recoverable costs and preliminary losses whilst liaising with the commercial team to ensure commercial success.
  • Produce and develop mid-long-term programmes (6-12 week look ahead), control operations, and monitor and report on progress.
  • Manage supply chain packages and chair meetings with stringent record keeping to ensure progress and compliance against contracted works packages.
  • Understand the client priorities and adopt a professional and considerate approach to maintain good working relations.
  • Manage project handover and ensure defect/snag free completion.
  • Support the strategy for the closure of defects during defects period and obtain a certificate of Making Good Defects within targets set.
  • Lead by example with a positive can-do attitude.
  • Proven track record of successful delivery of projects across various sectors.
  • Solutions driven with a proven record of using construction experience to overcome logistical, design and construction issues as they arise.
  • Computer literate with proven use of Microsoft Office suite, MS Project or ASTA.
  • Use of Common Data Environments e.g. Nialli, Dalux, Fieldview etc.
  • The ability to read, accurately interpret, and communicate programmes, drawings and technical specifications to the wider site team.
  • Proven experience in managing the supply chain, direct employees, consultants and liaising with the end customer/client representatives.
  • Appropriate CSCS card, SMSTS certificate and First Aid at Work certificate.
  • Valid driving licence.
