Willmott Dixon are seeking a Construction Manager with a proven track record in successfully leading and delivering complex projects across multiple sectors. Our pipeline has never looked stronger. As the site lead, reporting into the operations manager, you’ll thrive in a collaborative environment, building strong relationships with customers and supply chain partners while leading some of our most significant projects. Our reputation is built on delivering exceptional projects, and you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and elevating that reputation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Responsible for all aspects of the project through the entire lifecycle (cradle to grave), including Preconstruction through to PC and defect liability period.
- Liaising with customer teams to deliver the contract obligations.
- Communicate and collaborate across all stakeholders, including Supply Chain, Customers and Third Parties (Building Control, HSE, Planners and Fire Officers).
- Full responsibility for developing, implementing and controlling the agreed project strategy and delivery programme, including weekly reporting to the operations manager.
- Regular coordination with the commercial manager to manage & maintain budget.
- Lead and motivate the project team and the supply chain to deliver the project to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and environmental management, whilst maintaining high levels of quality delivery.
- Review delivery performance against targets, and use previous experience to identify, and manage potential risks and opportunities.
- Implement best practice and drive continuous improvement.
- Take lead on ensuring the smooth handover of the project to the customer upon project completion.
Proven track record of successful delivery of multiple mid-large scale commercial construction projects. Strong experience within different construction methods and materials. The ability to manage diverse teams (including the supply chain, direct employees and consultants) to achieve the best results and create a one-team ethos. Strong commercial awareness, especially around budgeting, understanding scope of works and control of variations. Well-rounded technical skills, including the ability to interpret contract documents, programmes, drawings, and specifications. Coupled with the ability to communicate clearly across the wider delivery team. Strong ability to navigate software’s including Microsoft Office Suite, Asta & Common Data Environment’s (Dalux, Nialli, Fieldview, etc). Proven experience with the planning, implementing and managing of site logistics and temporary works on site. Calm head in times of pressure, by having a can-do attitude. Appropriate CSCS card, SMSTS certificate and First Aid at Work certificate. Drivers licence. MCIOB.
