Experienced Site Managers with an internal or finishing trade background are required by Willmott Dixon. As a Site Manager / Building Manager within Willmott Dixon, you will be part of our 'one team' ethos that delivers quality projects on time whilst also having a positive impact on the local community. Our aim is for you to be part of a team on our projects and those in the future where you will work across multiple sectors including Education, Defence and Health amongst others! Reporting to the Construction Manager, the successful candidates will manage the delivery of projects safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the delivery of projects safely, on time, and to the highest quality.
  • Organise the works and supply chain to provide the right working environment to avoid disruption between trades.
  • Ensure an excellent site image is maintained.
  • Undertake the works to eliminate waste and avoid non-recoverable costs and preliminary losses while liaising with the commercial team to ensure commercial success.
  • Produce and develop short term programmes, control operations, and monitor progress daily to achieve delivery of the project.
  • Understand the client priorities and adopt a professional and considerate approach to maintain good working relations.
  • Manage project handover and ensure defect/snag free completion.
  • Support the strategy for the closure of defects during defects period and obtain a certificate of Making Good Defects within targets set.
  • Lead by example with a positive can-do attitude.

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven track record of successful delivery of mid to large scale commercial construction projects across various sectors.
  • Computer literate with proven use of Microsoft Office suite, MS Project or ASTA.
  • Use of Common Data Environments e.g. Nialli, Dalux, Fieldview etc.
  • The ability to read and accurately interpret programmes, drawings and technical specifications.
  • Proven experience in managing the supply chain, direct employees, consultants and liaising with the end customer/client reps.
  • Appropriate CSCS card, SMSTS certificate and First Aid at Work certificate.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Minimum relevant level 4 qualification (HNC/NVQ4 etc) or equivalent.
  • Valid driving licence.
