We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Proposals Manager to join our London & East construction business, based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. We deliver projects across multiple sectors within north London, the northern home counties and East Anglia. This will be a hybrid role with a mix of remote and office based working. Being an experienced proposals manager, you will oversee our proposals and ensure the team is preparing high-quality bids that delight our customers. This is a 12 month fixed term contract for maternity cover.
We are committed to really understanding our customer’s needs then developing sustainable solutions that are clearly articulated in customer-focussed, class leading submissions.
You will partner with preconstruction managers, bid managers and subject matter experts to create winning strategies for our varied bids and proposals across a range of sectors, including Education, Leisure, Commercial, Blue Light and Health.
The team collaborates to produce creative, well thought out content, and you will be able to create “the golden thread” and craft well written imaginative, engaging content to “wow” our customer and ultimately win projects. You will likely be comfortable representing our company and presenting your proposals to our customer when its needed.
The role
Your main responsibilities will include:
• Support and oversee the proposals team/process in all aspects of the submission including identifying and assembling the people needed to produce and win the bid.
• Produce high quality qualitative submissions on time within budget.
• Effectively coordinate and lead proposal team contributor’s input.
• Provide and implement creative ideas and initiatives into proposals.
• Assess technical and complex requirements, control and shape the proposals.
• Manage the production of accurate, well presented documentation for PQQ’s and tenders.
• Create and lead customer presentations when needed.
• Check progress and support team members.
Essential and Desirable Criteria
Skills and experience required:
• Experience in a proposals or work winning role.
• Exceptional project management skills and ability to work with a large number of teams at once.
• A proactive ‘can-do approach’ is vital, self-starter mentality with sound commercial understanding.
• Experience of drafting and reviewing written communications to deliver specific messages within tight deadlines.
• Proven track record of bid/proposal management and bid advice.
• The drive to deliver excellent customer service through the proposal process.
• Emotional intelligence and an ability to flex style to the situation.
