Overview
We are recruiting for a Proposals Manager to join our Southern regional team. As the successful candidate, you will play a pivotal role in winning new work by leading the development of compelling, persuasive and customer-focused proposals across South London and the Southeast. Working alongside a Bid Manager on first-stage tenders, you will be responsible for shaping and delivering high-quality submissions that clearly articulate our offer, address customer needs and concerns, and demonstrate best value. You will engage and lead subject matter experts across the business, translating complex technical input into clear, engaging and impactful written content that truly resonates with our customers. This is a highly collaborative and networked role, requiring strong stakeholder engagement, creative thinking and the confidence to challenge and influence. Through well-crafted written and oral submissions, you will help ensure our proposals stand out and ultimately win projects. NB. This is a 6-month fixed term contract opportunity, with the possibility of converting into a permanent role!
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of compliant, compelling and persuasive bid submissions aligned to the win strategy.
- Identify, engage and coordinate subject matter experts to contribute effectively to proposals.
- Develop and maintain the proposal plan, managing timescales, inputs, reviews and final submission deadlines.
- Proactively write high-quality proposal responses from scratch, ensuring clarity, consistency and customer focus throughout.
- Brief, support and challenge contributors to ensure responses meet quality, tone and content expectations.
- Review, edit and refine all written content ahead of final submission, ensuring accuracy, consistency and impact.
- Facilitate post-submission reviews and lessons learned to continuously improve proposal quality and win rates.
