Willmott Dixon Interiors are looking to appoint a Project Surveyor (Quantity Surveyor) to join our team delivering a long-term programme of work in Aldermaston, Reading. This is a secure, technically complex environment supporting projects that enhance critical scientific and analytical capabilities. The current programme is scheduled through to 2027, with a strong likelihood of continued works for many years beyond, offering long‑term stability and clear development opportunities. Projects range from fast‑paced interior fit‑out works to highly sensitive construction packages.
You will operate as a key Project Surveyor on a day‑to‑day basis, overseeing the commercial delivery of allocated projects under NEC forms of contract, with support from a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Senior Commercial Manager. This role includes involvement in preconstruction and future phases, making it ideal for a surveyor who enjoys seeing projects through their full lifecycle and contributing to long‑term client relationships. Due to the nature of the client, you will be required to work predominantly on site (typically 3–4 days per week) and be eligible for SC security clearance.
Responsibilities- Assist in commercial management across the full project lifecycle
- Support and contribute to preconstruction and two‑stage procurement activities
- Commercially manage subcontract and supply chain packages
- Prepare, submit and agree valuations, payment notices and final accounts
- Manage change control, compensation events and variations in line with NEC requirements
- Maintain robust CVC cost reporting, forecasting and budget control
- Ensure compliance with all contractual, commercial and client‑specific procedures
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with the client, consultants and supply chain
- Actively challenge unnecessary cost and manage commercial risk
- Proven experience operating at the Project Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor level
- NEC contract experience is essential (framework and call‑off experience highly beneficial)
- Experience managing your own projects or work packages
- Confident client‑facing communicator, comfortable operating in a highly regulated environment
- Strong understanding of cost reporting, forecasting and change management
- Experience in refurbishment, interiors, M&E or complex environments desirable (but not essential)
- Competent using MS Excel and measurement tools such as Bluebeam
