Overview
In this role you will design, implement, and operate enterprise-scale Azure infrastructure to deliver secure, scalable cloud services.
You’ll work with cross-functional teams to support CI/CD, governance, and platform automation while maintaining security-first operations.
The role combines hands-on cloud engineering with governance and optimization to enable global business services.
This is a remote, UK-wide position with hub offices in London or Ipswich and a clear opportunity to shape platform standards and automation at scale.

Responsibilities
- Design, implement and manage Azure-based server infrastructure (VMs, networking, management groups)
- Enforce cloud security services (Defender for Cloud, Key Vault, Managed Identities, hardening)
- Automate provisioning and configuration using Ia C and scripting (ARM/Bicep, Terraform, Power Shell, Azure CLI)
- Apply Azure governance standards (Landing Zones, Azure Policy, RBAC, tagging, subscription mgmt)
- Optimize resources for performance and cost using Monitor, Log Analytics, Cost Management
- Collaborate with Dev Ops and application teams to support CI/CD pipelines, containerized workloads, and Paa S/App services
- Provide incident support and troubleshoot issues
- Document processes and infrastructure for knowledge sharing and continuous improvement
- Stay current with cloud updates and industry trends to recommend improvements
- Key requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong Azure experience or other cloud provider experience
- Experience with Windows Server Iaa S management (HA, Monitors, Backup, DR)
- Terraform production experience
- Understanding of CI/CD tools (Azure Dev Ops, Git Hub Actions)
- Scripting in Power Shell, Bicep or Python
- Experience with Git Hub Enterprise
- Familiarity with Ia C tools (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates) for automating cloud tasks
- Basic understanding of AI/ML ops concepts and cloud infra requirements
- Experience with Azure Arc and OSConfig
- Experience with Vulnerability Management and Dev Ops/Agile delivery
- Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-204, AZ-305)
- Influencing technical direction across distributed teams
