Join WTW as a Pensions Data Specialist and be part of Pension Data Solutions. Step into a role where your pension project administration, data, and/or calculation expertise truly makes an impact. As a Pensions Data Specialist at WTW, you’ll move beyond day‑to‑day admin and become a key contributor to large-scale, technical DB pension projects. If you enjoy problem‑solving, working with data, and seeing your work improve outcomes for thousands of members, this role is a perfect next step.

You’ll work hands‑on with complex pension data, perform bulk calculations, support scheme corrections, and help deliver projects that shape how pension schemes operate. From GMP exercises to benefit rectifications, no two days are the same. You’ll be part of a supportive team, learning from experienced specialists, while getting the chance to grow your technical, analytical, and project skills.

If you’re currently in pension project administration, pension analysis, or calculations and looking for a more dynamic, project-focused role with room to grow — this is your opportunity to take that next leap.

The Role
  • Support the delivery of bulk calculation and data-driven pension projects for DB pension schemes.
  • Carry out pension calculations, data manipulation, and validation activities with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist in data auditing, cleansing, and transformation work to support projects such as GMP rectification, benefit corrections, and scheme change exercises.
  • Work with Excel-based pension models, including reviewing, updating, and modifying calculation templates.
  • Collaborate with project teams of 3–6 people, managing delegated tasks and progressing work to agreed deadlines.
  • Contribute to multiple projects at once (typically 3–5), each spanning 6–8 months.
  • Support project planning, triage activities, tracking tasks, and preparing project documentation.
  • Communicate clearly with project leads and stakeholders, raising risks or issues promptly.
Why apply this Role
  • Opportunity to build technical pension expertise while developing project skills.
  • Exposure to a variety of DB pension projects and calculation scenarios.
  • Work closely with experienced colleagues and gain structured development.
  • Hands-on involvement with pension data, bulk calculations, and real‑world project environments.

This is hybrid role which can be based out of our London, Reigate, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds or Edinburgh office.

Our work style

At WTW, we trust you to know your work and the people, tools and environment you need to be successful. The majority of our colleagues work in a ”hybrid” style, with a mix of remote, in-person and in-office interactions dependent on the needs of the team, role and clients. We understand flexibility is key to supporting an inclusive and diverse workforce and WTW offers flexible working opportunities and part-time working.

What you’ll bring
  • Experience working in DB pensions, ideally in pension data, calculations, administration, or project-related roles.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel, including comfort with data manipulation and formula‑based models.
  • Familiarity with bulk corrections, data audits, or data cleansing in a pension context is highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Experience in any of the following is beneficial:
  • Pension project administration
  • Pension technical calculations
  • Pension data analysis
  • Pension project coordination or junior project management

Candidates with an Actuarial background and experience in pension projects looking for pension data roles are also encouraged to apply. An interest in programming or tech‑enabled solutions is a plus (e.g., VBA, SQL, Python — not essential).
