Description
The Operational Resilience team supports WTW’s multiple businesses in ensuring they can continue to deliver critical services to clients during business disruptions. Key focus areas are maintaining policies and standards, developing and validating recovery strategies/plans, incident response, exercising and training, and tactical/strategic projects to enhance resilience across the organisation and mitigate emerging threats.
We are seeking a proactive professional to lead and enhance our incident, crisis, and operational resilience framework within the Global Business Continuity Management and Operational Resilience team. This role involves developing, maintaining, and continuously improving the incident management framework, ensuring effective response to disruptions. Responsibilities include managing emergency communication systems, such as Everbridge and off-band crisis communication platforms, facilitating timely and coordinated messaging during incidents. Additionally, you will support activities to identify, resolve, and investigate root cause analyses for significant events, driving corrective actions to mitigate future risks. Providing operational response support during geography and firm-level incidents will also be a key aspect of your responsibilities. Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with the Global Business Continuity Management and Operational Resilience team to deliver overall team objectives, contributing to the organization\’s resilience and preparedness. This is an FTC role for 6 months at our London office with a hybrid working arrangement.
The Role:
Incident Management Framework:
- Develop and maintain the global incident management framework, including incident management team structures and plans, operating protocols, and key contact data, ensuring all supporting documentation remains current and operational.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders to ensure plans and processes are consistent and integrated across all geographies and regions.
- Manage access control of Everbridge global emergency notification system (ENS) and WTW’s secure off-band crisis communication platform, ensuring effective data transfer, group structures, and role permissions. Provide onboarding and training support for system users.
- Support the delivery of incident management exercises and awareness events, ensuring teams are prepared to respond to crises. Provide subject matter expertise on incident response procedures as required.
- Support or lead response actions during crisis events. Lead reporting, tracking, and closure of issues, ensuring lessons learned are captured and incorporated into procedures.
- Stay updated on emerging risks and identify opportunities to enhance effectiveness.
- Operate as an integral part of the Operational Resilience Team and contribute to wider WTW activities as needed.
Qualifications
The Requirements:
- Background in business continuity / operational resilience
- Experience responding to crisis events
- Experience managing / administering mass notification platforms (Everbridge desirable)
- Experience working with multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work as part of a virtual team across diverse geographies
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Strong data management skills, including Excel proficiency, monitoring, analysis, and reporting
- Certification from the Business Continuity Institute or equivalent recognized BC/risk institute (desirable)
