FS' Political Risk & Structured Credit team is a recognised market leader within the Political Risk and Credit market. Based in London, NY and Singapore, the team is responsible for servicing WTW's global network & clients including corporates, export credit agencies, traders and financial institutions (banks and funds) among others. The team has extensive experience structuring large complex placements to enhance clients' abilities to invest, operate and trade in a portfolio of challenging countries. Our book of business has a global footprint, offering complex solutions to all clients across industry sectors including Renewable Power, Manufacturing, Defence, Aviation, Technology and Oil and Gas and Natural Resources. We also focus on other niche sectors. We encourage all brokers to be involved across the whole portfolio rather than to fully specialise on one particular product or client type. This in turn promotes growth, development and elevated career paths.
Responsibilities
- Broking: Execute placements from non-binding indication to confirmation of cover for a large variety of deals; manage binding transactions for clients across multiple products including Political Risk, Comprehensive Non-Payment (Contract Frustration/Credit) and Pre & Post Shipment.
- Client/Network Engagement: Provide general support to clients by email, telephone and face‑to‑face meetings; put together market submissions and understand clients' needs; summarise market feedback; develop new and existing clients and guide them through the process from initial meetings to binding first policies; structure solutions for clients trading and investing in both OECD and developing economies; prepare market presentations to best present client requirements; work with multiple stakeholders on projects within FS as and when appropriate.
- Operational / Portfolio Management: Handle slips, endorsements and processing (new policies and regular endorsements); update the relevant monitoring tools/spreadsheets (premium/brokerage); work with the accounts team to ensure timely production of invoices; assist with claims as and when required; work in accordance with the WTW Client Excellence Model and compliance with WTW policies, including participation in the management of risks.

Qualifications & Skills

- Understanding of insurance market dynamics and core processes.
- Develop and establish relationships with underwriters, both Lloyd's and company markets.
- Experience with wording negotiations.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Proven experience managing effective client relationships.
- Ability to interpret and use data optimally.
- Good understanding of compliance and applicable regulation.
- Highly organised and attention to detail.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Foreign language(s) a plus but not a must.
