The Role
- We are seeking an Broker Technician professional to join our Property Treaty Reinsurance team.
This role will support brokers across the full placement and renewal lifecycle, working closely with clients, reinsurers and internal stakeholders to deliver a high level of service and operational excellence.
- The successful candidate will have prior insurance or reinsurance broking experience and be comfortable operating within a fast-paced London Market environment.
Please note, this is not an entry-level position and requires previous experience within insurance or reinsurance broking.
Key Responsibilities
- Support brokers with the placement, renewal and servicing of Property Treaty reinsurance programmes.
- Prepare and review contracts, endorsements, presentations, slips and market documentation.
- Liaise directly with clients, reinsurers and internal stakeholders to ensure the efficient management of accounts and placements.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients and market contacts.
- Monitor placement progress and ensure all activity is accurately recorded within relevant systems.
- Assist with production initiatives, reporting requirements and portfolio management activities.
- Work closely with claims, accounting and compliance teams to ensure seamless account servicing.
- Support premium processing, settlement activities and placement administration where required.
Experience
- Experience within insurance or reinsurance broking support, broker technician, account management or a similar technical support role.
- Previous experience supporting renewals and placements within the London Market.
- Strong understanding of broking processes, market submissions, contracts and placement documentation.
- Experience liaising directly with clients, brokers, underwriters and reinsurers.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience supporting Property Treaty reinsurance business.
- Knowledge of proportional and non-proportional treaty structures.
- Experience handling multinational or complex reinsurance programmes.
- Understanding of bordereaux management, premium settlements and claims reporting.
- Familiarity with London Market systems and processes.
