The Role We are seeking a commercially minded and technically rigorous Qualified Actuary to join our UK Analytics team within a leading reinsurance brokerage to support Aviation and Aerospace.
This is a critical client-facing position that merges actuarial insight with real-world commercial experience, supporting the design, structuring, and execution of sophisticated reinsurance solutions across multiple lines of business.
Operating at the heart of our broking analytics offering, this role provides an outstanding platform for an actuary to apply their technical expertise while directly influencing client strategy, capital efficiency, and risk transfer outcomes.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in actuarial pricing, an ability to communicate complex ideas with clarity, and a passion for applying analytics in high-impact advisory settings.
The initial phases of work will focus on the hands‑on set‑up and specification of a market-leading analytics and CAT environment.
Experience and interest in working with technology teams as an actuarial subject‑matter expert (SME) are also a key requirement.
Key Responsibilities Include Designing and building market‑leading analytical tools and methodologies that improve pricing accuracy, workflow efficiency, and client‑facing outputs.
Serving as a strategic advisor to clients, providing deep actuarial insight into portfolio performance, risk dynamics, and optimal reinsurance structures.
Supporting the development of bespoke reinsurance programs that meet client‑specific objectives across risk mitigation, capital relief, and volatility management.
Applying actuarial methods to price treaty reinsurance across a range of perils and lines, leveraging exposure data, loss experience, and catastrophe model outputs.
Producing and presenting benchmark analyses that inform negotiations and enhance the credibility of placement strategies with reinsurers.
Partnering closely with brokers to craft analytical placement narratives and supporting reinsurer engagement during the marketing and negotiation process.
Adapting modeling outputs and performance indicators to strengthen our value proposition and differentiate our offering in a competitive market.
Mentoring junior analysts and actuarial trainees, supporting their technical development and ensuring delivery excellence across the team.
Conducting peer reviews and supporting the broader capability‑building agenda of the analytics function.
Developing trusted relationships with brokers, clients, reinsurers, and internal stakeholders, serving as a critical link between technical insight and commercial strategy.
Contributing actuarial leadership to RFP responses, new business pursuits, and long‑term client engagement strategies.

Essential Qualifications working knowledge of coding languages (Python) or data visualisation platforms (Power BI, Tableau) is an advantage.

Good understanding of emerging technologies, including AI, Data Science, Generative AI, and data ingestion, to identify development opportunities.
