About the Team

We are a newly formed technology and analytics function with an exciting future in shaping the enterprise technology, digital, and data strategy. We are fast‑moving, and obsessed with the end‑user experience. Our company values strong foundations, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Background

The company has recently gone live with Workday Financials and is in the early stages of developing models in Adaptive Planning. Accounting Centre and Prism are yet to be initiated; however, there will be a requirement for these systems to be integrated with other platforms in the ecosystem. This role therefore requires a hands‑on approach to system set up and configuration and to ensure data accuracy. The role will also require the Platform Owner to work alongside finance to provide continued education for the finance team and ensure process efficiencies are delivered with the Workday platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the feature roadmap of Workday and adjacent platforms and services (e.g. Finance systems and model, integrations to data services).
  • Configuration, testing, config management and maintenance of the Workday Platform.
  • Ensure platforms align with the company's strategy and deliver measurable value to employees.
  • Oversee the integration of Workday with surrounding systems to ensure data consistency, user experience continuity, and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with IT and vendors to maintain a robust, scalable, and secure architecture.
  • Collaborate with Finance and other business units to gather requirements and prioritise features, bug‑fixes and enhancements.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for platform‑related queries, escalations, and strategic discussions.
  • Ensure platforms comply with internal policies, data privacy regulations, and security standards.
  • Maintain documentation, change management processes, and audit readiness.
  • Monitor platform performance and user feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Stay current with Workday releases and industry trends to recommend innovations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience configuring and managing Workday as a platform owner or process manager.
  • Certifications that demonstrate excellence in management and configuration of Workday.
  • Strong understanding of Finance processes and the employee lifecycle.
  • Strong understanding of Workday Financials, Prism, Accounting Centre and Adaptive Planning tools.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and vice versa.
  • Familiarity with data governance, integration frameworks, and SaaS platform management.

About You

  • Stakeholder Management – Build trust and align diverse teams across Finance, IT, and business functions.
  • Clear Communication – Translate technical details into business language and vice versa.
  • Empathy & User‑Centric Thinking – Design systems that enhance the employee experience.
  • Adaptability – Navigate evolving technologies and shifting priorities with ease.
  • Strategic Problem Solving – Think holistically to identify and resolve platform‑related challenges.

How to prepare for a job interview at Willis Re (UK) Limited

Brush Up on Your Technical Skills

For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.

Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach

IT consulting is all about solving problems for clients. Think about how you can illustrate your approach to a past challenge using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). It's a great way to show how you tackle complex issues and come up with effective solutions.
