Credit Broker This is an opportunity for an experienced broker within the Credit & Political Risk market to join Willis. The role will focus on developing and managing client relationships, delivering innovative risk transfer solutions, and supporting growth across trade credit, political risk, structured credit, and non-payment insurance programmes. The successful candidate will possess strong market relationships, technical expertise within the Credit & Political Risk space, and the ability to advise clients on complex risk challenges. We are seeking an individual with a proven track record of business development, client management, and placement execution.

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, insurers, lenders, traders, and financial institutions.
  • Generate new business opportunities across Trade Credit, Political Risk, Structured Credit and Surety solutions.
  • Advise clients on risk transfer strategies and market developments.
  • Structure, negotiate and place complex Credit & Political Risk insurance programmes.
  • Work closely with colleagues across Willis to identify opportunities for cross‑selling and client growth.
  • Lead client presentations, renewal strategies and placement negotiations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with underwriting markets and stay abreast of underwriting appetite and market trends.
  • Support RFPs, tenders and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Share market intelligence and thought leadership with colleagues and clients.
  • Deliver high-quality service throughout the placement lifecycle, including claims advocacy support where required.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Credit & Political Risk Broker or Underwriter.
  • Strong understanding of Trade Credit, Political Risk, Structured Credit and Surety products.
  • Established network within the Credit & Political Risk insurance market.
  • Demonstrated business development and client management experience.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to explain complex insurance solutions to a range of stakeholders.
  • ACII, degree or equivalent professional qualifications preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and geographies.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
