To support our growing team an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Safety & Compliance team at Aviation House in Bridgend. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic person to develop a specialist career in safety, compliance, auditing, and regulatory oversight within a highly regulated aerospace environment.
This dual responsible role performs operational safety and compliance monitoring activities within the UK CAA and EASA Part-145 approved aircraft maintenance functional area within Willis Engine Repair Centre. Although predominantly focused on Engine maintenance, this role will also support the Compliance Team with conducting support activities across other functional areas such as AS or ISO Approvals.
Responsibilities will include:
- Conduct independent safety and compliance monitoring activities, including audits, inspections, and assessments in accordance with our management system and annual audit programme.
- Produce accurate and professional records, reports, findings, investigations, and safety assessments.
- Support investigations into maintenance errors and other occurrences, helping identify root causes and effective preventative actions.
- Manage supplier approval activities, ensuring records remain current and regulatory requirements are maintained.
- Administer and maintain training records for authorised personnel.
- Monitor and follow up on corrective actions arising from internal and external audits.
- Support the review of Part-145 maintenance personnel authorisation applications and participate in authorisation boards.
- Assist with the development and delivery of continuation training programmes.
- Promote a positive safety culture through proactive reporting, continuous improvement, and human factors best practices.
- Support additional safety and compliance initiatives as directed by the Compliance leadership team.
Requirements:
- Appropriate professional background: Aviation Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent Level 3 Qualification.
- Minimum of 3-years’ experience in an aviation or an equivalent highly regulated industry.
- Desirable: (training in these areas will be provided for the right candidate)
- Auditing training in either an aviation or ISO environment.
- Structured Investigation training.
- Part-145 Regulations training or experience.
- Detailed knowledge of Maintenance Organisation Expositions, their development and amendments.
- Technical knowledge representative of the products/types maintained by WERC-UK (e.g., Engine General Familiarisation courses and/or related experience).
