Willis Engine Repair Centre Bridgend, Wales. At Willis Engine Repair Centre, part of the Willis Lease Finance Corporation, we are currently recruiting for a HR Business Partner to join us on a permanent basis.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join our team in a highly regulated, safety-critical environment. This role offers a balance of strategic project work alongside hands-on operational HR support. You will act as the primary HR contact for the local site, working closely with on-site leadership, while also being part of the wider UK and Global HR function. This is a standalone role on site, requiring confidence, autonomy, and strong relationship-building skills, with the support and collaboration of a broader HR network.
Key Responsibilities
- Project / Strategic Work
- Lead and support HR projects.
- Drive improvements to HR processes, policies, and systems.
- Support the delivery of talent management, succession planning, and development initiatives.
- Contribute to employee engagement, culture, and organisational development initiatives.
- Partner with UK and Global HR teams on wider business initiatives and change programmes.
- Use HR data and insights to identify trends and support decision-making.
- Act as the first point of contact for HR matters on site, supporting managers and employees.
- Provide pragmatic HR advice across the employee lifecycle (recruitment, onboarding, development, performance, and offboarding).
- Support managers with performance management, development planning, and team effectiveness.
- Ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures in line with a regulated environment.
- Support training and competency processes, including maintaining accurate records and supporting compliance requirements.
- Assist with audit activity by ensuring HR documentation is accurate, complete, and audit-ready.
- Assist with recruitment activity and workforce planning, particularly for specialist and technical roles.
- Maintain accurate HR data and support reporting requirements.
About You
- Proven experience in an HR Business Partner or Senior HR Advisor role.
- Comfortable operating in a standalone, on-site HR role while staying connected to a wider HR function.
- Experience delivering HR projects and supporting organisational change.
- Experience in a highly regulated environment is highly desirable (e.g. aviation, engineering, manufacturing, or other safety-critical industries).
- Good working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, particularly with operational and technical teams.
- High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, documentation, and compliance.
- Able to balance autonomy with collaboration across UK and Global teams.
- Well-organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- CIPD Level 5 (or working towards) preferred.
