Our client, a global well-established freight forwarding company, are looking for an Import Operations Consultant with scope to learn exports and niche market movements to join their team based in their Gatwick offices.

On Offer:

  • The opportunity to join a dynamic team.
  • Salary c. £32K, DOE
  • Monday to Friday working pattern: 9am - 6pm. After probation, 1 weekend in 3 to cover time sensitive shipments, paid weekend rates
  • 20 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays
  • Company laptop & company phone provided
  • Performance review and potential for salary adjustment
  • Enrolment into company pension scheme

Duties and Responsibilities of the Import Operations Consultant:

  • Handling import freight forwarding operations from start to finish
  • Handling incoming calls and customer enquiries
  • Preparing accurate job quotations
  • Processing operational Import shipments
  • Liaising with carriers, contractors, and internal teams
  • Costing jobs and invoicing
  • Occasionally assisting with warehouse duties if required
  • Managing your own desk efficiently and maintaining accurate records

To be Considered for the Import Operations Consultant:

  • Previous experience in handling import freight forwarding operations of any mode of transport - Air, Road or Sea
  • Customs operations experience is preferred but not essential
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage tasks independently and as part of a team
  • IT literate
