Due to increased demand, our client, a growing UK-based customs clearance agency providing professional import and export declaration services to a diverse client base, are looking to expand their operations team by recruiting a Customs Clearance Agent based in Liverpool.

Main Purpose of the Role:
You will be responsible for preparing, submitting, and managing customs declarations across UK import and export movements. This is a hands-on operational role requiring strong technical knowledge of UK customs procedures and excellent attention to detail.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Customs Clearance Agent:
- Prepare and submit import and export customs declarations using CDS
- Ensure accurate tariff classification, customs valuation, and origin declaration
- Process supplementary and simplified declarations where applicable
- Handle queries from clients, HMRC, ports, and freight partners
- Manage clearance exceptions and resolve customs issues efficiently
- Maintain compliance with UK customs regulations and border procedures
- Keep accurate records in line with audit and compliance requirements
- Support internal quality control and continuous improvement processes
To be Considered:
- Proven experience handling UK customs declarations
- Must be fluent in Mandarin (verbal and written)
- Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle, due to occasional travel to the Manchester site
- Working knowledge of CDS (Customs Declaration Service)
- Strong understanding of Incoterms, commodity codes, customs valuation and origin rules
- Experience with import/export procedures across road, sea and air freight (preferred)
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple clearances under time-critical conditions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
