Our client, a leading multi‑modal freight forwarder and parcel distribution specialist, recognised as one of the UK’s fastest‑growing logistics and freight forwarding companies, is looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team based local to Wetherby, West Yorkshire.
Main Purpose of the Role: As a key player within the sales team, you will use your expertise in B2B & B2C field sales to develop pipelines, engage with prospects, negotiate contracts, and help businesses streamline their domestic shipping needs.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Business Development Manager:
- Achieve at a minimum new business target as outlined by management per financial year
- Generate new leads and opportunities through various channels, including cold calling, networking events, and online research
- Develop and implement effective prospecting strategies to expand the customer base
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, understanding their needs and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional products/services
- Negotiate terms and conditions to achieve mutually beneficial agreements
- Close deals and secure contracts
- Work towards achieving individual sales targets and contribute to business goals
- Collaboration with internal teams
- Provide feedback from customers to contribute to product/service enhancements
- Implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and business growth
- Continually assess and adjust strategies based on market feedback and performance metrics
- Track and analyse sales performance and business development opportunities
- Prepare regular reports for management to evaluate effectiveness
- Conduct thorough market research to identify potential business opportunities and trends
- Analyse industry data and competitor activities to stay informed about market changes
To Be Considered for the Business Development Manager:
- Proven experience in business development/sales, or related field within parcel and/or e-commerce logistics
- Strong understanding of market dynamics and industry trends
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
- Results-driven with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with CRM software and other business development tools
- Computer literate with knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications
- Willingness to drive nationwide
- Full UK driving licence and access to vehicle
