Our client, a new player to the UK freight forwarding & logistics market, are looking for an Internal / External Sales Executive to join their freight forwarding team based in
Chelmsford, Essex.

Role: Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, preparing quotations, following up leads, building long-term customer relationships, and promoting the company's full range of freight forwarding and logistics services.
This is a varied role combining office-based sales with customer visits, giving you the opportunity to develop new business while maintaining and growing existing customer relationships.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Internal / External Sales Executive include:
Business Development
- Generate new business through proactive cold calling, networking, referrals and prospecting.
- Identify and approach potential customers across a range of industries.
- Arrange and attend face-to-face customer meetings.
- Build a strong sales pipeline and actively manage opportunities through to conversion.
- Achieve agreed sales targets and KPIs.
Customer Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
- Identify opportunities to increase business from current accounts.
- Ensure excellent customer service throughout the sales process.
- Act as the main point of contact for assigned customers.
Quotations & Sales Support
- Prepare competitive freight quotations for imports, exports and cross-trade shipments.
- Follow up quotations promptly to maximise conversion rates.
- Liaise with the operations team to ensure pricing is accurate and achievable.
External Sales
- Plan and attend customer visits throughout the UK.
- Present the company's freight and logistics services professionally.
- Conduct regular account review meetings with existing customers.
- Represent the company at networking events and industry exhibitions when required.
To be Considered
- Previous commercial experience within freight forwarding or logistics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confident making outbound sales calls.
- Comfortable attending customer meetings.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
