Our client, a global logistics company and leading NVOCC that specializes in international freight forwarding and cargo consolidation is recruiting for an LCL Export Operator to join their team at offices in the Basildon, Essex area.

- Monday to Friday working pattern, 09:00-17:15hrs.
Duties and Responsibilities of the LCL Export Operator:
- Manage export LCL process start to finish via in-house system.
- Book containers with carriers and apply for hazardous approval to ensure the most efficient and profitable loadings.
- Liaise with UK warehouses to book container loading.
- Issue loading manifests to warehouses.
- Issue Bill of Lading Instructions to carriers prior to documentation cut.
- Check Master Bill of Lading when received from carrier and highlight any errors or approving.
- Send pre-alerts to overseas agents/offices within 48 hours of sailing.
- Ensure cost estimates are entered on all jobs within the correct accounting month.
- Meta profit sharing if applicable.
- Ensure all operational issues are clearly documented in writing, keeping Export Manager in copy of all correspondence as required.
- Resolve customer invoice queries and dispute any supplier invoices that are not correct.
- Close files after checking everything has been charged/costed and maximum profitability is achieved.
- Answer telephone in a timely manner.
- Support to receive bookings from clients and issue booking confirmation.
- Arrange haulage with UK warehouses if required.
To be Considered for the LCL Export Operator:
- Previous experience and knowledge of sea/ocean export freight-forwarding operations.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Demonstrate agility and development within the role.
- Able to multitask and effectively handle changing priorities under pressure.
- Ability to always maintain confidentiality.
