Our client, a well-respected market leader in providing international freight forwarding and logistics solutions for high value goods, are recruiting for talented Air Freight Import / Export Operators to join their team at offices in the London, Heathrow area. This is a new role to join a new freight forwarding team at offices in Feltham. An exciting opportunity to join a rapidly expanding organisation with a vision to further establish its global leading position within the industry.

Main Purpose of the Role

The role involves being in charge of arranging air export and import shipments and customs brokerage of high value goods based on clients’ requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage air freight export and import shipments according to customer needs.
  • Issue MAWB & HAWB.
  • Prepare and submit customs documentation, including export declarations, export licenses and CITES.
  • Communicate with clients and internal teams to provide updates on shipment status and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Support other members of the export/ import team as needed to ensure smooth operations.
  • Update shipping files.
  • Liaise with airlines in a professional manner in order to meet operational requirements and maintain up-to-date schedule information and shipment status reports
  • Ensure all quality controls procedures are updated and adhered to
  • Proven experience in air freight forwarding / logistics is a must, preferably specialised in the movement of high value goods or technical shipments such as AOG.
  • Possess a positive and professional customer focus and can-do attitude.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Works well under pressure and is able to multitask in a fast paced setting
  • Knowledge of customs regulations and export procedures required
  • Knowledge of AS400/SAP/MS Office is preferable.
  • Knowledge of CDS for customs purposes is desirable.
  • Italian / French language is preferable.
  • No criminal convictions – subject to full DBS check.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience in air freight forwarding / logistics, preferably with high value goods or technical shipments such as AOG.
  • Strong communication with clients and internal teams
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Knowledge of customs regulations and export procedures
  • Familiarity with AS400/SAP/MS Office; CDS for customs is desirable
  • Languages: Italian or French preferred
  • DBS check compliance
