Sous Chef – Care Home

Β£15.00 per Hour

A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced Sous Chef to join a high-quality care home that prides itself on delivering exceptional dining experiences alongside outstanding care.

Set within a beautiful converted property surrounded by acres of picturesque grounds, this Good CQC-rated care home provides residential care in a warm and welcoming environment. Dining is an important part of residents' daily lives, and the kitchen team plays a vital role in creating nutritious, delicious meals that enhance wellbeing and quality of life.

We're looking for a skilled Sous Chef with previous care home, healthcare, or similar catering experience who understands the importance of nutrition, hydration, specialist diets, and delivering a premium dining experience tailored to residents' individual needs.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Senior Chef, or Chef within a care home, healthcare, or similar environment
  • Strong knowledge of nutrition, hydration, and specialist diets
  • Experience catering for allergies, intolerances, and dietary requirements
  • Excellent understanding of food hygiene and health & safety regulations
  • Ability to prepare high-quality, fresh meals to a consistently high standard
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen
  • Prepare and cook nutritious, high-quality meals for residents
  • Deliver a premium dining experience that promotes choice and enjoyment
  • Cater for a variety of dietary requirements, allergies, and specialist diets
  • Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and kitchen safety
  • Support stock management and ordering processes
  • Ensure all meals contribute positively to residents' nutritional and hydration needs
