Nursery Practitioner – Level 3
Up to £30,000 per year | Full Time | All Year Round
Smaller groups can make a big difference in Early Years. With more time to notice the little things, practitioners can really get to know each child – what interests them, where they need encouragement and when they’re ready for their next challenge.
This welcoming nursery keeps small numbers of children within its rooms, creating a more personal environment where care and learning can be shaped around each child’s individual needs and stage of development. The focus is on helping children become confident, independent and curious learners, while making sure they feel secure and supported along the way.
And learning certainly isn’t limited to indoors. The outdoor play area becomes an extended classroom, offering a Forest School-style environment where children can explore, investigate, get messy, take on new challenges and enjoy plenty of adventures.
What We’re Looking For
- A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or above
- Previous experience working within an Early Years setting
- A good understanding of the EYFS and child development
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and promoting children's welfare
- Confidence planning engaging experiences around children's individual interests and developmental needs
- An understanding of how to encourage independence, confidence and curiosity
- A warm, attentive and nurturing approach
- Enthusiasm for incorporating outdoor learning and exploration into everyday practice
- Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships

- Provide high-quality care and learning within a smaller-group environment
- Get to know your key children and understand their individual personalities, interests and development
- Plan meaningful activities that reflect children's next steps rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach
- Create opportunities for children to make choices, try things for themselves and build independence
- Support children's emotional, social, physical and educational development
- Make full use of the outdoor environment for exploration, discovery and adventure
- Complete observations, assessments and development records in line with the EYFS
- Build strong partnerships with parents and keep them involved in their child's development
- Maintain a safe, stimulating and welcoming environment
- Work closely with the wider nursery team to provide consistent, high-quality Early Years practice
