Job Description

Deputy Nursery Manager

Β£36,000 per year | 40 Hours per Week | Outstanding Ofsted Rating

This is an exciting opportunity to join a welcoming nursery situated on a beautiful site with extensive outdoor spaces, giving children plenty of room to explore, investigate and enjoy learning beyond the classroom. The setting places a strong emphasis on creating engaging experiences while providing the nurturing, consistent care children need to feel confident and secure.

Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you'll help lead the day-to-day running of the setting, support practitioners to deliver high-quality early years practice and ensure excellent standards are maintained throughout the nursery.

What We're Looking For

  • Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in a senior or leadership position within an early years setting.
  • Experience as a Deputy Nursery Manager, Third in Charge or similar would be advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and Ofsted requirements.
  • Excellent knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Confidence leading, motivating and developing nursery teams.
  • Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • A hands-on leadership style with a genuine passion for early years education.

Your Role

  • Support the Nursery Manager with the effective day-to-day running of the nursery.
  • Provide visible leadership and guidance to practitioners across the setting.
  • Support, coach and develop team members to maintain consistently high standards of practice.
  • Monitor the quality of care, learning and children's experiences throughout the nursery.
  • Help create engaging indoor and outdoor learning opportunities that support children's individual development.
  • Build strong relationships with children, families and colleagues.
  • Support staffing, routines and the smooth organisation of the nursery day.
  • Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, EYFS and regulatory requirements are consistently met.
  • Deputise for the Nursery Manager when required, ensuring the setting continues to run smoothly in their absence.
