Job Description

  • Nursery Manager – New Nursery Opening
  • Up to £53,000 per year | 40 Hours per week

Taking the lead of a nursery before it opens gives you a unique opportunity: to influence how it operates, how the team works together and the experience children and families receive from their very first day.

Opening this autumn, this beautiful purpose-built nursery is the newest addition to an established group of early years settings.

Designed specifically with young children in mind, the setting will provide an inspiring environment where high-quality care, learning and development can flourish.

They are looking for a highly experienced Nursery Manager who can confidently take ownership of the setting, establish a strong team and ensure excellent standards are embedded from the outset.

You'll need extensive experience successfully managing a nursery, with the leadership skills, regulatory knowledge and commercial awareness required to launch and grow a high-performing setting.

What We're Looking For

  • Full and relevant

Level 3 Early Years qualification or above .

Extensive experience working as a Nursery Manager is essential.

  • Proven track record of successfully leading and developing an early years setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding and Ofsted requirements.
  • Experience leading, motivating and developing high-performing nursery teams.
  • Confidence managing staffing, occupancy, budgets and operational performance.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with children, families, colleagues and external professionals.

Your Role

  • Take ownership of the nursery ahead of its autumn opening and ensure the setting is ready to welcome children and families.
  • Recruit, develop and inspire a strong nursery team.
  • Establish clear expectations and create a positive, supportive working culture.
  • Ensure consistently high standards of care, education and safeguarding.
  • Oversee the nursery's day-to-day operational and financial performance.
  • Manage staffing, occupancy and budgets effectively.
  • Ensure full compliance with the EYFS, Ofsted and safeguarding requirements.
  • Build strong relationships with families and establish the nursery as a trusted part of the local community.
  • Drive continuous improvement and ensure high-quality practice is embedded throughout the setting.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider nursery group and senior leadership team.
