Room Leader – Baby Room
From £31,000 per year | Level 3 | Full Time
This Baby Room Leader opportunity offers the chance to take the lead within a welcoming nursery where carefully designed environments, engaging experiences and a child-centred approach help even the youngest children feel safe, settled and confident to explore.
Combining a warm, nurturing atmosphere with bright, modern learning spaces, the nursery provides an environment where babies can develop at their own pace.
As Room Leader, you’ll guide your team to provide responsive, individualised care while ensuring each child’s routines, developmental needs and important early milestones are fully supported.
What You’ll Need
- Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification – essential
- Strong experience working within a nursery setting
- Previous experience working with babies
- Room Leader, Deputy Room Leader or senior practitioner experience
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS and early child development
- Confidence leading, supporting and organising a room team
- Good understanding of babies’ individual routines, care and developmental needs
- Strong safeguarding knowledge
- A warm, responsive and nurturing approach

Leading the Baby Room
- Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Baby Room
- Lead and support practitioners to maintain consistently high standards
- Create a calm, nurturing and stimulating environment for babies
- Plan meaningful experiences around individual interests and developmental stages
- Support important early milestones, including physical, communication and emotional development
- Ensure individual feeding, sleeping and care routines are followed
- Maintain accurate observations and learning records
- Build trusted relationships with parents and carers
- Ensure safeguarding, health and safety and nursery procedures are consistently followed
- Support and guide practitioners within the room, promoting strong Early Years practice
