Senior Nursery Practitioner

Up to £13.75 per hour, dependent on qualifications and experience

40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, Full Time

You will be working in a well-established early years setting rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, where children are encouraged to develop their independence through daily access to both indoor and outdoor spaces. The setting’s outdoor areas and allotment form an important part of the learning environment, giving children opportunities to explore, play and learn through practical experiences.

As a Senior Nursery Practitioner, you will play an important role in supporting children’s development and wellbeing while working as part of a professional early years team with a strong focus on quality practice and the EYFS.

What You’ll Need

  • Level 3 or above qualification in Early Years
  • Proven experience working as an Early Years Educator, Nursery Nurse or Nursery Practitioner
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the EYFS
  • Strong communication skills when working with both children and adults
  • Ability to support children’s learning, development and independence through purposeful play and everyday experiences

  • Support children’s learning and development in line with the EYFS
  • Provide high-quality care and education throughout the day
  • Encourage children to explore and develop independence across indoor and outdoor areas
  • Plan and support activities that promote children’s development and individual interests
  • Build positive relationships with children, colleagues and parents
  • Maintain a safe, supportive and engaging learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with the wider nursery team to maintain high standards of care and practice
