Job Description

Level 3 Room Leader

£30,000 per year | 40 Hours per Week | 2–3 Year Olds

Two to three is an exciting stage of Early Years – language is developing, independence is growing and personalities are really beginning to shine through.

We’re looking for an experienced Room Leader to take the lead within a 2–3-year-old room, creating a warm and engaging environment where children can explore, build confidence and develop at their own pace. You’ll understand the needs of this age group and know how to balance growing independence with the reassurance, consistency and care young children still need.

Alongside being hands-on with the children, you’ll support and guide your room team, ensuring everyone works together to provide consistently high-quality Early Years experiences.

What We’re Looking For

  • A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or above
  • Previous nursery experience, with strong experience working with 2–3-year-olds
  • Room Leader, Senior Practitioner or similar leadership experience would be beneficial
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS and child development
  • A good understanding of the developmental needs of toddlers
  • Confidence leading, supporting and motivating a room team
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge
  • A warm, patient and engaging approach with children and families

What You’ll Receive

  • £30,000 per year
  • Competitive annual leave
  • Your birthday off
  • Christmas closure
  • Pension scheme
  • Training and development opportunities

Leading Your Room

  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the 2–3-year-old room
  • Create engaging experiences that reflect children's interests and developmental needs
  • Support children's language, independence, confidence and social development
  • Lead and support practitioners within the room
  • Observe children's development and plan meaningful next steps
  • Maintain a stimulating, organised and welcoming learning environment
  • Build positive relationships with parents and carers
  • Support smooth transitions as children progress through the nursery
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and wellbeing

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements, including an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references, and verification of the right to work in the UK, in line with safeguarding responsibilities.
