Job Description

  • Deputy Room Leader (Baby or Toddler Room)
  • Up to £29,800 per year (depending on qualifications and experience)
  • 41 Hours per Week | All Year Round

Working within either the Baby Room or Toddler Room, you'll support the Room Leader in creating a safe, stimulating, and caring space where every child feels valued and secure.

With spacious, age-specific learning environments and a large outdoor garden designed for exploration and play, the nursery provides the perfect setting for children to build confidence, curiosity, and independence from their very first steps.

You'll play an important role in leading the room team, supporting children's individual development, and helping to deliver exceptional early years education every day.

What We're Looking For

Level 3 Early Years qualification

(or equivalent).

  • Previous experience working within a
  • Baby Room or

Toddler Room .

  • Experience as a
  • Senior Nursery Practitioner or

Deputy Room Leader , or someone ready to step into a leadership position.

  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding procedures.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A caring, enthusiastic, and supportive approach with a genuine passion for early years.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Room Leader with the day-to-day running of the Baby or Toddler Room.
  • Help lead and inspire the room team to deliver exceptional care and learning experiences.
  • Act as a Key Person, building strong relationships with children and their families.
  • Plan and deliver engaging activities that support children's learning and development in line with the EYFS framework.
  • Observe, assess, and record children's progress to support their individual learning journeys.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where every child can flourish.
  • Support and mentor colleagues while maintaining high standards of practice.
  • Step into the Room Leader's role when required, ensuring the smooth running of the room.
