Room Leader – Level 3
£33,400 per year | 40 Hours per Week
With outdoor space right on the doorstep, this is a nursery where children have plenty of room to move, investigate and turn their natural curiosity into new discoveries.
The outdoor environment is a big part of nursery life, giving children the freedom to play, explore and experience the natural world as part of their everyday learning. Indoors, the same thought has gone into creating exciting and engaging spaces, with environments that have been carefully designed around the needs of young children and the different ways they learn.
We're looking for an experienced Level 3 Room Leader who can bring together great Early Years practice and confident leadership, supporting their team to make the most of these environments while creating a room where children are curious, confident and increasingly independent.
What We're Looking For
- Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification.
- Previous experience working within a nursery or Early Years setting.
- Previous Room Leader, Senior Practitioner or similar leadership experience would be beneficial.
- Good understanding of the EYFS framework and child development.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
- Confidence leading, supporting and motivating a team of Early Years practitioners.
- Ability to use different environments and resources creatively to extend children's learning.
- A caring, organised and collaborative approach to leadership.

Your Role As A Room Leader
- Lead your room team and provide guidance, support and encouragement throughout the day.
- Provide warm, responsive and high-quality care for children.
- Plan and oversee experiences in line with the EYFS and children's individual interests.
- Create opportunities for children to investigate, experiment and learn through first-hand experiences.
- Support children's confidence, independence and creativity through play.
- Ensure observations and assessments are meaningful and used to inform appropriate next steps.
- Maintain an engaging room environment that reflects children's interests and developmental needs.
- Mentor practitioners and support the continued development of your team.
- Build strong relationships with children and positive partnerships with their families.
- Work closely with other Room Leaders and the nursery management team to maintain consistent standards.
- Maintain excellent standards of safeguarding, welfare and health and safety.
