Deputy Nursery Manager

From £32,000 per annum | Full-Time, 40 Hours Per Week

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to join a welcoming early years setting where children are encouraged to learn, explore, and thrive in a carefully designed environment.

Set within a beautifully renovated property, the nursery combines character and charm with bright, modern learning spaces. Inside, children benefit from spacious, well-resourced rooms that support every stage of their development, while outside, free-flow access to the gardens allows children to enjoy outdoor learning, exploration, and discovery throughout the year.

We're looking for a passionate early years leader who can support the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day operation of the setting, inspire colleagues, and help maintain the high standards of care and education that families have come to expect.

What We're Looking For

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification
  • Previous experience as a Third in Charge or above
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework
  • Good knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Experience supporting, mentoring, and developing colleagues
  • A nurturing and child-centred approach to childcare

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day running of the nursery
  • Lead and motivate staff to deliver outstanding care and education
  • Support staff development through coaching, mentoring, and training
  • Ensure high standards of practice are maintained across the setting
  • Monitor children's learning, development, and wellbeing
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and professionals
  • Support safeguarding, health & safety, and compliance procedures
  • Promote a positive and inclusive nursery culture
  • Step into leadership responsibilities in the Nursery Manager's absence
