Clinical Lead Nurse – RGN
£60,000 per year | 48 Hours per Week | Supernumerary Position | Complex Nursing Unit
We’re looking for an experienced Clinical Lead Nurse who can step confidently into a complex nursing environment and provide strong clinical leadership from day one.
Supporting individuals with complex health conditions, physical disabilities and acquired brain injuries, you’ll lead a team of Nurses and Healthcare Assistants while remaining hands-on with clinical care. This role requires an RGN with previous Clinical Lead experience within a nursing home, excellent practical nursing skills and the confidence to lead in a demanding clinical setting.
The Experience We’re Looking For
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active NMC registration – essential
- Previous Clinical Lead experience within a nursing home – essential
- Strong experience leading Nurses and Healthcare Assistants
- Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Experience supporting individuals with complex nursing needs
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, infection control and clinical governance
- Confidence with care planning, medication management and risk assessments
- Strong practical clinical skills, including PEG care, catheters, venepuncture, syringe drivers and wound care
- A confident, calm and organised leadership style
Hours & Benefits

- Days – mixture of long and short shifts
- Predominantly Monday–Friday with 1 in 4 weekends

Providing Clinical Leadership
- Lead clinical standards across the complex nursing unit
- Provide visible, hands-on leadership to Nurses and Healthcare Assistants
- Assess and respond to residents’ changing and complex clinical needs
- Oversee care plans, medication management and clinical documentation
- Provide clinical guidance and support during complex situations
- Coach and develop nursing and care colleagues
- Maintain high standards across safeguarding, infection prevention and clinical governance
- Liaise with families, GPs and other healthcare professionals
