Job Description

Room Leader – Baby or Toddler Room

Β£30,600 per annum | 40 Hours Per Week

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Room Leader to join a warm and welcoming Good Ofsted-rated nursery that prides itself on creating a true home-from-home environment for children, families, and staff.

The nursery offers bright, spacious learning environments with free-flow access to beautifully designed garden areas, allowing children to move seamlessly between indoor and outdoor learning throughout the day. Children benefit from a rich and varied curriculum, enhanced by engaging Forest School experiences that encourage exploration, independence, confidence, and a love of the natural world.

Whether leading the Baby Room or Toddler Room, you'll play a key role in supporting children's development during these important early years while guiding and mentoring your team to deliver outstanding care and education.

What We're Looking For

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification
  • Previous experience as a Room Leader, Senior Nursery Practitioner, or similar role
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework
  • Good knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Experience supporting and mentoring colleagues
  • A nurturing and child-centred approach to childcare

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day running of the Baby Room or Toddler Room
  • Deliver high-quality care and education in line with the EYFS framework
  • Support, mentor, and develop team members within the room
  • Plan and oversee engaging learning experiences tailored to children's developmental needs
  • Monitor children's progress through observations and assessments
  • Build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues
  • Support outdoor learning opportunities, including Forest School activities
  • Maintain safeguarding, health & safety, and nursery standards at all times
