Job Description Room Leader – Baby Room £35,000 | Full-Time, 40 hours per week | All Year Round | Ofsted Rating - Outstanding
Spacious rooms, a large garden, and an Ofsted Outstanding rating - our client's nursery is a setting that stands out. Every detail, from the bright, well-resourced indoor spaces to the outdoor environment where children explore and grow, has been considered with early years excellence in mind.
They are now looking for a warm, experienced Room Leader to take the lead in their Baby Room - someone who understands the unique needs of the youngest children and has the skill, patience, and passion to create a truly nurturing environment where babies feel safe, settled, and ready to grow.
What Our Client Is Looking For
- Level 3 Early Years qualification or above - essential
- Previous Room Leader experience - strongly preferred, ideally within a room
- A deep understanding of the developmental needs of babies and very young children
- Naturally calm, nurturing, and patient - with a genuine love for working with this age group
- Confident leading a room team and communicating warmly and regularly with families
- Committed to maintaining the highest standards of care and practice

Key Responsibilities
- Leading the day-to-day running of the Baby Room with warmth, consistency, and confidence
- Creating a calm, stimulating environment that supports the developmental needs of babies at every stage
- Planning and delivering age-appropriate activities that encourage sensory exploration and early development
- Building strong, trusting key person relationships with babies and their families
- Observing and documenting developmental progress in line with EYFS, sharing updates meaningfully with parents
- Mentoring and supporting room-based staff, acting as a positive and consistent role model
- Contributing to the nursery's Ofsted Outstanding standards and wider team culture
