Room Leader – Baby Room

£35,000 | Full-Time, 40 hours per week | All Year Round | Ofsted Rating – Outstanding

They are now looking for a warm, experienced Room Leader to take the lead in their Baby Room – someone who understands the unique needs of the youngest children and has the skill, patience, and passion to create a truly nurturing environment where babies feel safe, settled, and ready to grow.

What Our Client Is Looking For

• Level 3 Early Years qualification or above – essential
• Previous Room Leader experience – strongly preferred, ideally within a room
• A deep understanding of the developmental needs of babies and very young children
• Naturally calm, nurturing, and patient – with a genuine love for working with this age group
• Confident leading a room team and communicating warmly and regularly with families
• Committed to maintaining the highest standards of care and practice

Key Responsibilities

• Leading the day-to-day running of the Baby Room with warmth, consistency, and confidence
• Creating a calm, stimulating environment that supports the developmental needs of babies at every stage
• Planning and delivering age-appropriate activities that encourage sensory exploration and early development
• Building strong, trusting key person relationships with babies and their families
• Observing and documenting developmental progress in line with EYFS, sharing updates meaningfully with parents
• Mentoring and supporting room-based staff, acting as a positive and consistent role model
• Contributing to the nursery’s Ofsted Outstanding standards and wider team culture
