Up to £30,700 per year | Level 3 | 40 Hours per Week | 4 or 5 Days

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Room Leader who enjoys giving children the freedom to develop independence, make choices and become confident learners.

Based within a thoughtfully designed Montessori-inspired nursery, the setting combines Montessori methods with the EYFS framework to create meaningful learning experiences that follow children's individual development, interests and abilities.

The nursery environment itself plays an important role in this approach.

Children are encouraged to explore purposefully, develop practical skills and take increasing responsibility for their own learning within calm, carefully prepared spaces.

We're looking for a Room Leader to take responsibility for the Pre-School/Toddler Room, leading the team while remaining actively involved in children's everyday care, learning and development.

What We're Looking For

  • Full and relevant

Level 3 Early Years qualification or above.

  • Previous experience as a

Room Leader, Senior Nursery Practitioner , or within a similar senior Early Years role.

Montessori training or a Montessori qualification would be highly desirable.

  • Strong knowledge of the

EYFS framework and child development.

  • Good understanding of how child-led and independence-focused learning can be incorporated into everyday practice.
  • Excellent safeguarding and child protection knowledge.

  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Pre-School or Toddler Room.
  • Lead and support practitioners to maintain consistently high standards of care and education.
  • Deliver Montessori-inspired learning alongside the EYFS framework.
  • Create purposeful experiences that encourage children to make choices, solve problems and become increasingly independent.
  • Ensure the room is thoughtfully organised and accessible, allowing children to engage confidently with their environment.
  • Plan learning around children's individual interests and stages of development.
  • Observe and assess children's progress and use this to inform appropriate next steps.
  • Coach and support practitioners within your room, encouraging their development.
  • Ensure safeguarding, health and safety and nursery standards are consistently maintained.
