We're looking for an experienced Sous Chef with a background in a nursing home or similar environment. You'll have a strong understanding of nutrition, hydration, specialist diets, and food safety, alongside a passion for delivering high-quality meals that enhance residents' quality of life.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Senior Chef, Care Home Chef, or similar role
  • Experience working within a nursing home, care home, healthcare setting, or comparable environment
  • Strong understanding of nutrition and hydration for older adults
  • Experience catering for specialist diets, allergies, and dietary requirements
  • Good knowledge of food hygiene, temperature control, and food safety regulations
  • Ability to prepare fresh, high-quality meals to a consistently high standard
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a busy kitchen environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day running of the kitchen alongside the Head Chef
  • Prepare and cook nutritious, high-quality meals for residents
  • Deliver a premium dining experience that promotes choice, dignity, and enjoyment
  • Cater for a variety of dietary requirements, allergies, and specialist nutritional needs
  • Ensure food is prepared, presented, and served to the highest standards
  • Maintain accurate food safety and temperature records
  • Support stock control, ordering, and waste management
  • Ensure compliance with all food hygiene and health & safety regulations
  • Contribute to menu development and seasonal dining experiences
