Nursery Third in Charge – Level 3
£30,000-£32,000 | 40 Hours per Week | All Year Round

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Third in Charge to join a beautiful, purpose-built nursery where children's confidence, independence and development are at the heart of everything.
Rated Good by Ofsted, this modern nursery offers bright, spacious learning environments, with dedicated age-specific rooms thoughtfully designed to support every stage of children's development. The setting encourages children to explore, make discoveries and build independence through engaging, child-led learning experiences.
Outside, children benefit from fantastic outdoor spaces, including a mud kitchen, sandpit and dedicated play areas, providing plenty of opportunities for messy play, creativity and outdoor adventures.
We're looking for a confident, enthusiastic Early Years professional with previous senior-level experience, who is ready to support the nursery's leadership team, inspire practitioners and help maintain excellent standards of care and education.
What We're Looking For
- Level 3 Early Years qualification or above – essential
- Previous senior nursery experience, such as Room Leader, Third in Charge or above – essential
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding and child development
- Good understanding of Ofsted requirements and nursery compliance
- Experience leading, motivating and supporting nursery practitioners
- Confidence overseeing room standards, planning and children's developmental progress
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
- A proactive, hands‑on approach with the confidence to support nursery management
- A genuine passion for encouraging children's independence, confidence and learning

Supporting the Nursery Leadership Team
- Support the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager with the day-to-day running of the setting
- Lead by example, maintaining high standards of care, education and professionalism
- Support and motivate practitioners, encouraging teamwork and professional development
- Ensure learning experiences are delivered in line with the EYFS
- Promote children's confidence, independence and development through engaging, child‑led activities
- Support observations, assessments and the quality of teaching across the nursery
- Help maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety and Ofsted compliance
- Build positive relationships with parents, carers and colleagues
- Take on additional leadership responsibilities and support the nursery in the absence of senior management
