Our client is a purpose-built, luxury nursing home where the dining experience is considered an essential part of resident wellbeing. This is a setting where fine dining standards are expected, menus are crafted with genuine care, and the Head Chef plays a central role in shaping the quality of life for every resident.

They are now looking for an experienced and talented Head Chef to take full ownership of the kitchen, lead the catering team, and deliver a dining experience that residents, families, and staff are genuinely proud of.

  • Proven Head Chef experience - essential
  • Experience within a nursing home, care home, or similar setting - strongly preferred
  • The ability to deliver and maintain a fine dining experience consistently and at scale
  • Strong knowledge of nutrition for older adults, specialist diets, and allergen management
  • Confident with menu planning, costing, and kitchen management

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and managing the kitchen team, setting high standards and fostering a positive, professional environment
  • Designing and delivering seasonal, restaurant-quality menus that meet the nutritional needs of older adults
  • Ensuring all meals are prepared with full consideration of individual dietary requirements, specialist diets, and allergen management
  • Maintaining rigorous allergen records and processes, ensuring every resident's safety at every mealtime
  • Overseeing stock management, ordering, supplier relationships, and kitchen budgets
  • Ensuring full compliance with food hygiene legislation, COSHH, and Health & Safety requirements
  • Maintaining accurate records including cleaning schedules, temperature logs, and food safety documentation
  • Working closely with the care and management team to ensure mealtimes enhance residents' overall wellbeing
