Are you an experienced Sous Chef with a passion for creating nutritious, high-quality meals? Our client’s large, modern elderly care home is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic chef to join their kitchen team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a busy professional kitchen and enjoys making a positive impact on residents’ wellbeing.
As Sous Chef, you will play a key role in delivering freshly prepared, delicious meals tailored to the needs of elderly residents, including those requiring specialist diets or texture-modified foods. You will support and lead the kitchen team, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef in a professional kitchen, ideally within a care home or similar environment
- Strong knowledge of menu planning, including specialist and therapeutic diets
- Ability to lead, supervise, and motivate a kitchen team
- Confident communicator who can build positive relationships with elderly residents
- Level 3 Diploma in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership or equivalent (preferred)
- Experience with IDDSI / texture-modified diets (advantageous)
