This role is perfect for an experienced Early Years Practitioner or Room Leader who is confident leading a room day to day. You will be confident making routine decisions, organising staff and activities, and maintaining standards without close supervision.

Location: Early Years Nursery setting

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week, across 4 or 5 days

Salary: Β£13.20 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day running of your designated nursery room
  • Plan and oversee age-appropriate activities in line with EYFS
  • Maintain safeguarding, welfare, and ratio requirements
  • Guide and support practitioners within the room
  • Communicate effectively with parents and senior staff
  • Monitor observations, learning journals, and room standards

Qualifications

  • Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or higher
  • Recent experience as a Room Leader or senior practitioner
  • Strong understanding of EYFS and safeguarding requirements
  • Confidence managing routines, staff deployment, and room planning

This position is not suitable for candidates without leadership responsibility at room level.
